Hair grows in cycles, and VPL (variable pulsed light) works on hairs in their active growth phase, so a course of sessions is needed to catch every hair. Treated follicles stop producing hair, for long-lasting hair reduction and smooth, radiant skin. The treatment also stimulates collagen, which supports new, healthier skin cells.

Before: avoid sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks. Shave the area within 24 hours of your session, and don’t wax, pluck or use hair-removal creams.

During: we apply a cool gel and give you protective eyewear, then treat the area with quick flashes of light. A session takes 5–45 minutes, depending on the area.

After: mild redness for a few hours is normal. Treated hairs shed over 1–3 weeks. Most people need 6–8 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart.

Suitability: VPL works best on dark hair and is less effective on blonde, grey, red or white hair. Please consult us first if you have a skin infection, open wounds or severe eczema, or take medication that makes your skin sensitive to light.
